Urinary lactose as an index of lactation performance

study in a rural a rea o f B a n glade sh, on 129 lactating mothers with their infants o f 2 we eks to 8
mo n th s old ( s tudy group) and 112 ages matched non- lac ta ting, n o n -pregnant mothers.
Both ur inary lactose and L: C mo la r ratio signif icantly cor re lated with lactation p e r fo rma n c e
( r=0.63, P<O.OOJ, 1 -0 .7 4 , P<0.001 respec tive ly with FMS and r=0.51, P<0.001 and r=0.64,
