الارھاب : تطور معناہ فی اللغۃ العربیۃ وموقف الاسلام فی مکافحتہ فی الماضی والحاضر

Abstract

Nowadays the word terror or terrorism is frequently used in media
and conversation. Naturally, there is a synonymous word in Arabic
that is “Irhaab”. But this word is not enough to express the
meaning of “Zangibad” what is actually “Irhab in the name of
religion. However, it is the responsibility of Muslim Ummah to
eliminate the irresponsible misunderstanding of some western
media or writers. In this context, we are trying to find out the
development of the meaning of “Irhab”, and to highlight the role of
Islam against any terrorist activities over the ages. Some evidences
from the Holy Qur’an and the Hadith are discussed in this article
which will benefit the readers to reconcile the glorious role of
Islam in the early ages and to fight with newly grown terrorism
allover the world.
