Abstract

The Qur’anic Commentary (Tafseer of the Holy Qura`n) is very
significant for human being – especially for the Muslims because
the Qura`n is the origin and complete source of all kinds of
knowledge. The Qura`n is the complete code of human life and the
science of the cosmopolites. The understanding of the Qur’anic
sciences and Qura`nic knowledge depends on its Commentary,
Interpretation and Explanation. So, from the very beginning of its
revelation, many scholars in the world, especially the Muslim
scholars, are contributing to the Qur’anic commentary,
interpretation and explanation (Qura`n`s Tafseer). But the
Classical Qur’anic Commentaries are so vast or so short. In the
present global age, the students and the researchers have no long
time to sink in those seas of Qura`nic knowledge. So the author of
the book “Safwat at-Tafaseer” Mohammad `Ali As-Sabuny
collected the Classical Qur’anic Commentaries and summarized
their commentaries in an excellent method. Thus, it has become an
eclectic book of Qur’anic Commentaries.In this article, we have
studied the methods and styles of the book “Safwat at-Tafaseer” of
Mohammad `Ali As-Sabuny (An eclectic book of Qur’anic
Commentaries) with its evaluations from various corners.
