Abstract

Al-sha‘ir Ibn Hani al-Andalusi Wa Mumayyajatu Ash‘arihi
Spanish poet Ibn Hani al-Andalusi is renowned as al-
Mutanabbi of the West for his poetic artistry and unique
context. He played a leading role in reawakening Arabic
poetry in Muslim Spain. Ibn Hani largely delineated the
Aqidah as well as the religious faith of the Fatimids in his
poems. But he made such an exaggeration to eulogize Al-
Mu'izz Lideenallah (the fourth Fatimid Caliph) that
appears to be Shirk and Kufr. It seems that it is ascribed to
him for his excessive support to the religious faith of
Fatimid. However, as a poet of eulogy he was not entirely
successful composing metaphors and allegories. The
paper illustrates the exceptional characteristics of Ibn
Hani’s eulogy.
