Abstract

Bangladesh -a South Asian country - is a small and densely
populated country, which is considered as one of the largest
Muslim nations of the world in terms of population. Islam has
entered this land in ancient times, and the country has
undergone through various religious currents since old era, and
has suffered from several religious problems of heresies, myths
and so on. As a matter of fact religious reforms are not
unfamiliar in the context of Bangladesh. However, in recent
time it is witnessed some reformist trends tend to extremism;
this is because most of the scholars of each sect differ
negatively. Some solutions to these problems may be obtained
in the thoughts of Badi'zaman Said al-Noursi - one of the
greatest thinkers of the 20th century- who did his best to unite
the hearts of the Muslims. The ideas left by this great giant are
applicable in dealing with the differences of Bangladeshi
scholars. In this article I have attempted to provide a brief
description of the religious situation of Bangladesh as well as
some of the Noursi’s principles have also been presented which
may be used in dealing with those differences.
