Abstract

The theory of Said Nursi in purification of soul: An analytical study
Said Nursi, known as Badi'uzaman Nur al-Din Said al-Nursi, is
one of the most prominent scholars of religious and social
reformation in the twentieth century in Turkey. He tried his whole
life to reform the social, political and religious situation in Turkey
by rhetoric and writing, which was sabotaged by a bad attempt of
the atheists and secularists who disowned their people from their
religion and made them to lose their iman, faith and morals
especially when Kamal Ataturk assumed the presidency in Turkey
after the fall of the Ottoman Caliphate. Ataturk tried to reform the
society by eliminating Islam and the monotheistic faith in the name
of its modernization. Then Badi'uzaman Said Nursi stood against
his bad attempt and invoke people to the truths of faith and the
refinement of souls. In this article the researcher tries to present the
role of Said Nursi and his theory in refining the hearts of the
Turkish people and discusses the elements of purification of the
souls.
