Abstract

The Arabic word ‘Hikmah’ means wisdom, understanding etc. It is
also used in the sense of prophecy, the guidance of prophecy or the
provisions of the Quran and the Sunnah. And generally, it is used
to mean knowing the best things with the best knowledge. The
hikmah is one of the best graces of Allah as the Quran says: He
gives hikmah (wisdom) to whomsoever he pleases; and those who
are bestowed hikmah (wisdom) get good in abundance. (Quran,
Sura Al-Baqarah: 269). And the almighty Allah guided his
messenger to invite people to religion with hikmah (wisdom).
Allah said in the Quran: ‘‘Call them to the path of your lord with
hikmah (wisdom) and words of good advice. (Quran, Sura An-
Nahl: 125). So, from this review, it is realised that hikmah plays a
vital role in the field of religion.
Bediüzzaman Nursi was one of the most prominent scholars of
religious and social reform. He invited people to the eternal code
of life with hikmah. This fact can be realized looking at his famous
writing collections named Risale-i-Noor which is an excellent
explanation of Quran. He not only mentioned evidences in his
explanation, but also brought hikmah to light to remove suspicion
and indistinct from people's thought. This is a shiny aspect of his
writings. In this article, I will try to explain something of that
hikmah that we got on his Maktubat. I hope, in this article, I would
show some special features of his Maktubat (Risale-i-Noor). This
explanation will also be a noble example of those who want to
follow the path of guidance in our time.
