Abstract

Taha Hussein was a well-known writer and historian. He
presented his writings on history and dealt with Islamic and
non-Islamic personalities, as well as literary personalities.
These were a mixture of history and criticism. He wrote
literature in the style of history and wrote history in the style of
literature. He searched for a solution to social issues through
his view of history and his review of the past. He gave lessons
and directions to his country and nation in the light of history.
He has many historical books and many contributions related
to the history. He was concerned with Islamic history, Greek
history, Roman history and other important histories. There are
many factors in his historical formation. This article will
discuss his historical contributions with an indication to the
influencing factors of his historical formation. I believe this
will help the readers and researchers to know Taha Hussein as
an historian.
