Satisfaction of Garments Workers towards Current Salary Structure in Bangladesh: An Analysis

Abstract

The paper is an attempt to highlight the satisfaction of garment’s workers
towards present salary structure. The study was based on both primary and
secondary data. The primary data were collected through questionnaire method.
Non-probability sampling technique was used to define target population such as
Savar, Mirpur, Rupganj, Joydebpur, Gazipur, Kaspur, Ashulia, Nishchintapur,
Norashinghpur, and Zamgara. The sample comprises 80 units chosen by using
convenience sampling technique of which 10 test units are selected from each
factory. This study has measured the satisfaction and living standard based on
selected variables. The study found that most workers were dissatisfied with their
current salary structure. The authorities must take utmost good care of all parties
involved to ensure right balance between worker’s demand and industries return.
