Abstract

Three terpenes-caryophyllene-4,5-oxide, α-amyrin and β-amyrin were isolated from the petroleum ether
extract of Atylosia scarabaeoides. The structures of the compounds were confirmed by a series of 1D and 2D NMR
and MS analyses. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of caryophyllene-4,5-oxide was found to be 50-200
μg/ml.
