Abstract

The extracts (ethanol and methanol crude extracts) of Abroma augusta (Family- Sterculiaceae ) were subjected to antimicrobial
screening and brine shrimp lethality bioassay. In case of antimicrobial screening, the ethanol and methanol crude extracts exhibited poor
antimicrobial activity against most of the test organisms while from the results of the brine shrimp lethality bioassay, it can be well
predicted that the both extract (methanol and ethanol) demonstrated poor cytotoxicity with LC50 of 12.59 and 13.18 μg/ml respectively.
