Alkylation of Phenol with n-Alcohols (C5-C7) in the Presence of Sulphuric Acid
Abstract
Alkylphenols have been obtained in high yield by the alkylation of phenol with n- alcohols (C5-C7) in the presence of sulphuric acid. The
effects of the variation of temperature, molar ratio of phenol to n-alcohol, time of reaction, concentration and amount of sulphuric acid on
the reactions have also been studied.
